We asked one of our clients, Ren Richards of National Home Rentals, to put together her essential tips for single family rentals for residents during the summer months.

1. Check your air conditioning:

One of the top priorities during summer is to keep your home cool. Start by inspecting your air conditioning unit to ensure it's in good working condition. Replace or clean the air filter to maintain efficient airflow and clean the area around the unit from any debris that may obstruct its performance. If you notice any issues with your unit, such as strange noises or inadequate cooling, contact your property management company immediately for assistance.

2. Clean gutters and downspouts:

Summer storms can bring heavy rainfall, so it's crucial to keep your gutters and downspouts clean. Remove any leaves, twigs, or debris that may have accumulated in them to prevent water damage. Clogged gutters can lead to overflowing water, which can cause leaks and damage to your home's foundation. Regular maintenance will help ensure that rainwater is properly directed away from your property.
